Araneta Center: Where "the old" meets "the new"

Araneta Coliseum was constructed in 1957 to 1959 by Engineer Leonardo Onjunco Lugtu. The building was designed by Architect Dominador Lacson Lugtu with the aim to build the largest dome in Asia - and they did just that. With a seating capacity of 25,000, "the big dome" was known as the largest multi-purpose arena in the 1960s when it opened its doors to various sporting events and shows. It's best known event - "Thrilla in Manila" - occurred in October 1975 when heavy weights Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali took to the ring where Ali was crowned the victor.

Today known as Smart Araneta Coliseum, this massive building is dwarfed by the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, with a capacity of 55,000 and upcoming KJC King Dome in Davao City with a planned capacity of 75,000. Nevertheless, the Smart Araneta Coliseum continues to entertain today, from dog shows to musical concerts, and catering to jam-packed events still make Araneta Center a premium venue.

Jade Pacific Residences is only a stone's throw away from Araneta Center. Not only is Jade Pacific Residences so near to this premier "dome" but its accessibility to public transportation, numerous restaurants, and popular boutiques makes Jade Pacific Residence's location truly sought-after. A condo this close to all the bustle of the city, yet a sanctuary away from the noise and chaos of city life makes Jade Pacific Residence an exciting place to come home to.
